We were tired of disposable gear.

Rise & Roem started as a Saturday-morning conversation between two friends, a cast-iron pan, and a tent we'd just patched for the third time. We loved camping; we hated owning things that didn't last.

So we set a quiet rule: every product we sell must be field-tested by someone we know, repairable when possible, and beautiful enough to keep on a shelf at home. If we wouldn't bring it on a slow weekend by the river, we won't put it in the catalogue.

The catalogue is small on purpose. The journal is a place to share what we learn. And the trips — the trips are the whole point.
